Science
We started Diversity of Life this week with definitions of life and
things that all life does. We will pick that up next week but will spend
most of next week focused on the Science Fair. Projects should be close
to completion by the end of day on next Monday.
We will have all class on Monday to work on them and I am excited to
see the results. Most students have worked very hard and have done some
very interesting experiments and research.
The 5th Grade Science Fair is February 26th, from 1:30 to 3:00 in your
students homeroom. Students will be presenting their material and
getting a chance to look at others works in the three classes. For any
information, please feel free to contact Mr. Hill
at jdhill@seattleschools.org.
Social Studies, Mr. Hill's Class
We are continuing to look in depth into the Pocahontas story. Students
have read extensively about her and watched a video about her role in
saving Jamestown. They are currently in the middle of writing about who
they think she was and how her story has been
exaggerated and changed. I look forward to reading their work.
